Leia's Story

My name is Leia, and I’m a one-year-old black lab mix, tipping the scales at a respectable 50 pounds. Don’t let the lab part fool you; I’m only about 30% puppy mischief. The other 70% is pure, unadulterated chill.

Life is pretty good these days. My humans are the best. They understand that belly rubs are the ultimate form of affection and, thankfully, have two hands dedicated to the task. My favorite things involve walks, especially when they take me for one in the morning and another in the evening!

I’m a brainy girl, a real star student. "Sit," "down," "stay," "come" – I’ve got it all down. My humans use my special diet dog food as treats. I have food allergies but I'm on a special food and allergy pill that are working great!

I'm pretty perfect, if I do say so myself. I’m crate-trained and go in willingly every night for bedtime. I also know to go outside for my potty breaks and then come right back inside – especially when it’s cold and snowy.

While I enjoy a good snuggle, I’m not a “Velcro dog.” I’m content to nap in my bed while the humans move around. I make sure to check on them regularly, though, and sometimes I even join in their office for a long snooze while they're doing their work. I'm also a pro in the car, so I can go with them to all sorts of places.

Okay, so maybe I’m not *totally* perfect. I do sing my "breakfast song" every morning – a joyful "Ah-wooooo!" that announces my excitement for my meal. And, well, sometimes if I'm left alone and bored with a stuffed animal, it might see it's demise.

Overall, for a one-year-old lab, I'm super chill. I love my life, and I love my humans!

If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at www.lolin.org and click on Adopt, Apply for a Dog. From there, you can submit an Adoption Application to be considered for this dog. You MUST be an approved applicant to meet LOLIN dogs. There is no central location or hours to meet dogs.
