I came to Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue from a rural shelter in Texas with my friend Luke, who was already adopted. I have now received the care I need to find a home of my own in Florida. I am a spunky girl who is FULL of energy! My ideal home would have active adults who want to include me in their activities (running partner, anyone???) My new family should not have young kids because I am so high-energy that I might accidentally knock them over. Adults and older kids would be okay, though. I am a lab mix of some sort, and will likely be about 50-ish pounds when I'm full grown... As of the beginning of August I am about 11 months old and weigh about 35 pounds. My adoption fee has been fully waived thanks to a generous sponsor! I am up to date on my vaccines, spayed, dewormed, and microchipped, heartworm negative, and ready to find my new home! 1) Submit application 2) Application is reviewed for completeness and assigned to an adoption coordinator 3) Adoption coordinator verifies critical information on the application, contacts references and ensures that the requested animal is a good fit for the family 4) Adoption coordinator, in conjunction with rescue management, approves or denies application 5) Upon notification of approval, an adoption coordinator works with foster and adopter to set up an adoption appointment to bring your new family member home! We strive to work through adoption applications as soon as we can. We are 100% volunteer-based so it can take a day or two to complete the review. This also depends on the response time of your references. Should you change your mind or adopt a different animal after submission, please inform us so we do not spend unnecessary time on your application.
