They’ve survived hell, learned to trust us, and now they’re looking for a home where they can spend the rest of their lives together - which may be cut short.<br/><br/>Legolas is the good one. He's sweet, sensitive, and spunky. He has mast cell cancer, and he iscurrently in remission. Because life’s nothing if not ironic. He wears a diaper because he's on steroids to prolong his life. He's a thief and will dig in the trash. He gets offended easily by change. He loves other dogs, but he will pout if you introduce a new dog to the house. <br/><br/>Gimli is the muscle. He is fear aggressive and barks at absolutely anyone who isn’t his person. He would absolutely throw hands if he had them. He takes Prozac, which has really rounded him out and made his behavior super positive and consistent. What really keeps him grounded is Legolas. Without him, Gimli would crumble - which is why if Legolas’ cancer wins, they’re both going out together like Thelma & Louise.<br/><br/>Will they ever be “normal” dogs? No. Will they ever love you unconditionally? Maybe, if you’re patient, consistent, and not easily offended by barking. <br/><br/>We know it’s a long shot. But if you’re the rare kind of person who likes their dogs a little broken and their love stories a little tragic, we would be willing to do anything to find these boys a home together.
