Meet Leela!<br/><br/>Leela is an 8-year-old German Shepherd who deserved far better than what happened to her. When her owners lost their home to foreclosure, they moved away and left Leela and a Great Pyrenees behind in an outdoor pen. A very kind realtor discovered them, began feeding them and reached out to us for help.<br/><br/>Leela is safe now, and she is a remarkably sweet, intelligent girl. She is also very much a German Shepherd: loyal, observant, deeply tuned in to her people and not especially interested in becoming mayor of the dog park.<br/><br/>We do not believe Leela experienced much of the world before coming to us. She was comfortable with the Great Pyrenees she lived with, but she has shown no interest in meeting other dogs. We think she will be happiest as the only pet in a quiet home where she can finally relax and learn what it means to belong.<br/><br/>Leela needs a securely fenced yard, no cats and children who are teenagers or older. She is not looking for a loud, hectic household. She is looking for patient people who appreciate shepherds and will give her the stability she has never had.<br/><br/>At eight years old, Leela should not be starting over.
