Leana

Leana is a wonderful, loving, medium size dog, about 4 years old, who came to LCSPCA 12/2023 after being found as an abandoned stray, under-weight, heartworm positive and pregnant. She went into foster care and gave birth to 9 puppies! All got adopted so Leana had heartworm treatment and got spayed and vaccinated. Leana is a mixed breed dog, possibly Pit Bull and Beagle, who is as sweet and darling as they come! After being rescued and all fixed up medically, she became a vibrant, sassy, silly, love-bug! She enjoys Nyla bones, toys, playing fetch, going on walks, and gets along with most dogs as long as they aren't the dominant type. Leana has seen cats and not reacted but has not lived amongst them. This pup is smart, social and gets all kissy-faced and waggy-tailed around little kids. Leana is crate trained and barks to go out to the bathroom. She is generally healthy but due to having had heartworms in the past, the vet says she'll likely need ½ pill of Benazepril every 12 hours for life, which she takes very well with a bit of peanut butter.
