Leah Lu's Story

This precious girl is Leah Lu (DOB Jan 2020), a terrier mix looking for a home. Unfortunately, this not her first time with us -she came to us the first time as a very young puppy- her mother decided "motherhood" was not for her and attacked her litter. Leah Lu was the most wounded of the litter and the breeder could not afford her vet care. One of Leah Lu's eyes had to be removed- she has sight but it is impaired- it does not affect her at all. She also lost a bit of her tongue and has a bit of one ear missing. She was adopted as a puppy and recently returned because the couple moved and did not find suitable housing for their dogs and could not take her. That is the bad news. The good news is that Leah Lu has a zest for life like no other dog we have seen in a long time. She is super friendly and outgoing and her spirit has not been at all affected by what has happened to her. She runs and plays like a normal happy dog - she is such a sweetheart. She is active and playful and loves but once she gets tired, becomes a sleepy cuddle bug. She is accsuomted to living with other dogs and cats and has even lived with other exotic pets like lizards and snakes, she also likes kids of all ages. She is up to date with shots, spayed, is on heartworm prevention and housbroken. If you think you are a fit for Leah Lu, please visit our website at www.myhstc.org to submit an adoption application.

Adoption fee is $85 which includes all vet work

We prescreen all applicants prior to a meeting.
