Leah's Story

Leah is a 9-year-old spayed female Beagle. As you can see from the photos, she's adorable and loves to snuggle on the couch.

Leah would do best in a home that's a bit calmer but active enough to go for walks and play outside. She is crate trained.

During her puppy years, she was in a very chaotic household with 3 crazy dogs and one crazy, aggressive alpha. This sort of set the tone for her behavior to be a bit on edge.

She has been standoffish with other dogs and pets, again, most likely due to fear and from her experiences as a puppy. She is fearful of small children and has had trouble adjusting to having a young child in her family now. She has some food-guarding issues that, in the right environment and with the right routine, can be managed and even get better with the right support.

Negative behaviors in dogs can absolutely change when they are in the right environment, with some training, love, and patience. And we, at Pawsitive Connection, will always support you for as long as you need us, and provide help, training, and resources in any possible way we can to ensure the dogs we help are successful in their new homes with their new families. This is why we are also always transparent about their behaviors and personalities; we want to be sure we find the right home for each individual dog. We don't want to set them up for failure by not being upfront about their characters.

We believe all dogs deserve a chance; we believe all dogs can thrive when connected with the right person(s) and environment.

Please reach out to learn more about Leah. She is a sweetheart and just needs to be in a home that understands her needs and is more suitable for an older dog. At 9 years old, she still has plenty of good long years ahead, and she'd love to spend them out in the sun, going for walks, and overcoming her negative experiences as a puppy so she can learn that not everything is scary and that it's ok to relax and not be on guard all the time.

This is a rehoming situation, so our normal adoption fee does not apply. We will connect you with her current owner, assist with the rehoming/adoption process, and support Leah in any way needed, to the best of our ability.

Please reach out to us for more information about Leah.
Email: pawsitiveconnection2023@gmail.com
Text: 802-497-4842

If you'd like to fill out our application, that would be helpful.
