Layla (3-legs)'s Story
Layla is a pretty 6 month old Shepherd mix girl with only 3 legs. She currently weighs 28 pounds but we expect her to reach over 40 pounds when full grown.

We are not exactly sure what happened to Layla, but when she came to a rural shelter in Georgia, her foot was already missing. The theory is that she got her paw caught in a trap and may have had to chew around it to set herself free. The amount of pain she had to endure must have been horrendous but she is a survivor! The shelter knew there was no way to salvage her leg and quickly performed a front leg amputation before infection set in.

Thanks to social media, Trooper's Treasurers noticed this sweet girl and networked for her which led her to the eyes of our shelter manager who was drawn to help. She is the 2nd tripod we have available for adoption at the shelter.

Layla is docile but still a puppy who likes to chew. She does well with other dogs and will lay her sweet head on your lap or lay against you for reassurance.
