Meet Lawson, a sweet and unassuming special guy that is looking for a special home. Lawson came to us from a local shelter that wanted to be sure he was placed in the perfect home. You see, Lawson has a back leg deformity that makes him walk like a crab. We think it only makes him more adorable than what he already is!

Although he walks a little differently than other dogs, everything else about Lawson is just like any other dog. He loves to play, chasing his foster siblings all over the yard. He loves chewing on bones and squeaky toys, and he also loves sunbathing in the backyard. Lawson has done great on potty training and kennel training, but he’s still a puppy so has an occasional accident. His condition requires no special care and no medications. After playing a lot, his legs get tired, but that’s because his front legs are doing most of the work. However, even when he’s tired, he’s a super happy guy!

Lawson lives with foster siblings of all sizes and ages and does great with everyone. Sometimes he gets a little protective of his frisbee, but he gets over it super quick. As far as doggy friends – if they are high energy he takes a minute to get comfortable, but quickly realizes they are just so excited to be friends. As we said, he lives with a lot of other dogs and does great with everyone. Lawson also lives with cats and has shown no interest in them. He hasn’t lived with children, but as sweet and as easy-going as he is, children should not be an issue for him.

Lawson loves belly rubs and will wiggle and show you his belly if he thinks there is any chance of him sneaking in some pets. We think Lawson is a pretty special guy and we want to find him a forever home that recognizes that and appreciates him just the way he is!
