Meet Larissa

Larissa (Rissa for short) is a 2-year-old lab mix who was found as a stray in South Carolina. She is currently about 68 pounds. She has the most endearing tail wag and wiggle when she sees her people. She likes to be near you but is also happy to independently go to another room for some naps.
Larissa has so many strengths: Housebroken; friendly toward people, including well behaved children; does not become anxious if left alone for short periods (could go longer); good car rider; affectionate without being needy; no destruction of anything in the house; does not take items that don't belong to dogs; not overly fearful of normal events; will remove self from room if she doesn't like something (i.e. vacuum); relaxed during normal handling and touching; low grooming needs and easy to bath and care for; great eater; responsive to positive reinforcement; calms down quickly after being startled (i.e. loud sound outside or even when sees a squirrel); usually responds to "no" command (will need more work on this); sleeps all night; alert barking in the house decreases with familiarity of normal sounds; wiggle tail and greeting!

She needs her people to continue helping her learn basic obedience commands like sit, stay, come, down, and wait. She also needs to become more confident with all different types of dogs. She does well if the dog is low energy but does not like when dogs are very energetic or invade her space too quickly. She has been living in a home with another 2 year old lab mix and they get along fine. Gentle meetings work best.

Larissa enjoys a calmer environment. She enjoys her routines and walks and is mostly calm for a younger adult lab. We are unsure of her history but I suspect she lived with a family at some point and was modestly cared for. She currently lives with a two-year-old mostly submissive but sometimes overly playful lab mix and defers to her. Rissa has so much to give and the family who picks her is going to feel pretty lucky to have found such a sweet girl.
