Laramie's Story

Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a meet & greet with you and Laramie.

Laramie is currently in a foster home in Shelton, WA and is eligible for meet & greets! We would be happy to get Laramie to the Peace Arch Border Crossing for an in person meet & greet with any serious potential adopters.

Meet Laramie!

Laramie is a 3-year-old female pittie mix who currently weighs about 55 pounds. Laramie ended up at a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX, where she found herself on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a foster stepped up and we were able to save her, and she was later transported to Washington. Laramie is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and ready to find a family to call her own.

Laramie is dog friendly and enjoys playing with her dog friends. We would say that she has a moderate energy level. She enjoys running and playing with her doggie friends, but also plays happily alone. She will happily curl up on the couch and watch TV with you. Her foster dad is a painter, and she will happily lounge at his feet while he paints. If this is how Laramie could spend her days, she would be in heaven. She would love a quiet, calm home.

Laramie hasn't met cats yet, so we're not sure how she would react to them.

Laramie walks great on the leash! She gets excited initially but settles in and will walk calmly by your side. She enjoys her daily walks and prefers this over rigorous exercise.

Laramie is fully potty trained and even knows how to use a doggie door when she needs to go outside. Laramie is also crate trained and does well in the crate when she needs to go in it. Her foster family has left her out to free roam for short periods of time and she has done well.

Here's a small blurb about Laramie from her foster family:

Laramie is the sweetest girl who is playful and loving. She just wants to show her person how much she loves them, and she will happily receive love and pets in return. She is super food motivated. Laramie enjoys playing fetch in the yard and going for her walks, so hopefully her forever home will continue those two things for her. She's great in the car as well and will just sit back and enjoy the ride. Laramie is extremely smart and observant. She is generally calm in the home, while still showing happy, young-dog energy, especially when her days are predictable. She loves her people very much and will form a strong, affectionate bond with them. She tends to observe new people at first, then warms up and will happily seek affection once she feels comfortable. Laramie will make for a deeply loyal and rewarding companion.

Laramie would do best in a home that enjoys a relaxed pace, consistent routines, and quiet companionship

Interested in learning more about Laramie or applying to adopt her?
