Can we just talk about how absolutely ADORABLE this sweet girl is?! <br/><br/>Lani is 5 years young, 46 pounds, and one beautiful German Shepherd! With her gorgeous light blonde coat, soft black markings, and those sweet eyes, she’s a total heart-stealer!<br/><br/>But it’s not just her looks that have us falling in love. It’s that gentle, sweet personality. <br/><br/>She’s calm, she’s sweet, and she’s learning that life doesn’t have to be scary or uncertain.<br/><br/>And let me tell you, this girl is BLOSSOMING! <br/><br/> She’s gentle and laid-back!<br/><br/> She’s sweet as can be!<br/><br/> She’s learning to trust and enjoy all the attention!<br/><br/> She has done wonderfully meeting other dogs, including our beautiful Lainey!<br/><br/> And that adorable little SIT?! Oh my goodness! Such a prim and proper little lady! <br/><br/>Last week, Lani and Lainey got to spend some time walking together, and they did GREAT! We even got comfortable enough to drop the leashes and let them interact more naturally.<br/><br/>Watching these girls experience new things and make friends is exactly why we do what we do! <br/><br/>But here’s the part that gets me...<br/><br/>Lani was sitting in a shelter, facing the possibility of losing her life. <br/><br/>This sweet, gentle, beautiful girl.<br/><br/>And now? She’s here in Missouri, safe, loved, and getting the chance she deserves.<br/><br/>But rescue isn’t the finish line.<br/><br/>A FOREVER HOME IS! <br/><br/>Lani deserves a family who will love her, give her a little time to settle in, and let her show them just how wonderful she really is.<br/><br/>Someone who understands that the quiet ones have just as much love to give. She’s a smaller shepherd girl—dainty, feminine and absolutely beautiful. <br/><br/>Lani came into the shelter as a stray back in January, and shelter life can be A LOT, especially for a quieter, more sensitive dog.<br/><br/>And that seems to be our Lani.<br/><br/>She was described as calm, sweet, laid-back and quiet. She wasn’t the girl demanding attention from everyone who walked by. She was more likely to hang back, observe and take everything in at her own pace.<br/><br/>Her shelter card even said “go slow, nervous.”<br/><br/>And you know what?<br/><br/>We can do slow. <br/><br/>Sometimes the dogs who need a little extra time are the ones who absolutely blossom once they finally realize they’re safe.<br/><br/>We’re going to give this sweet girl the time and space she needs to decompress and let us see who Lani really is.
