Landi's Story

Landi
5 months old
Male
Breed: some kind of cute hound
4DX test: Negative
Current weight: 15 pounds

Landi was first brought to our attention by a tourist passing through a small, remote village called Poçem in southern Albania. She sent us a photo and was worried because his legs looked deformed. We immediately recognized the signs of rickets, a condition sadly very common in Albania due to severe malnutrition in street puppies.

We knew we had to help him, but finding Landi was not easy. Poçem is about three hours from Tirana, and locating a puppy in a tiny village without an exact location felt almost impossible. Finding someone willing to search for him was another huge challenge. Against all odds, four days later, a miracle happened and Landi was finally secured.

He was taken straight to the vet, started on supplements, proper nutrition, and daily sunlight. Soon after, his legs began to straighten and strengthen. Today, Landi is doing great. He runs, plays, and jumps like any happy puppy should. Thankfully, we caught the condition early and it was completely reversible.

Landi is a sweet, energetic pup with the cutest floppy ears and a beautiful brown coat. He is very clever, playful, and full of life. He has so much love to give and is ready to grow up knowing what it means to be safe and cared for.
