Lance's Story

Hi, my name is Lance!
If you’ve never met a cattle dog or a cattle dog mix before, let me give you a proper introduction — because I’m the real deal! I’m full of energy, curiosity, and determination. I love to bark, jump, and explore every inch of the world around me. Trails, fields, backyards — if there’s something interesting out there, I’m going to find it. And if something catches my attention, you’d better hold on tight because I’ve got a one-track mind when I’m focused on something!

I’m also the kind of dog who wants to be with my person all the time. Whether you’re walking, working, or relaxing, I like to be right by your side. Cattle dogs are known for being loyal and hardworking, and I’m no exception. I’m happiest when I have a job to do or an adventure to go on — even if that job is just keeping you company.

The staff say I don’t know all my manners yet, but I’m very willing to learn. I’m smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please once I understand what’s expected of me (especially if it involves that special food they keep talking about). I just need someone patient who understands my breed and can help channel my energy in the right direction.

I’d do best with an active person or family who loves to be outdoors, hike, run, or explore. A fenced yard where I can safely burn off my energy would be a huge bonus. I may not be the kind of dog who lounges around all day, but if you give me purpose, structure, and love, I’ll give you all the loyalty and adventure you could ever want.

So if you’re ready for a smart, bold, and fun-loving companion who will always keep life interesting, come meet me — Lance, your future trail buddy and loyal sidekick!
