Meet Lama, a one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix. Lama was rescued by our local WLK trainer and volunteer, Victoria, during her recent trip to Kuwait. Lama was walking alone in the desert and looked pregnant. She was immediately taken to the vet where it was discovered that she was not pregnant, but had an infection. After a few weeks of treatment, Lama recovered and is now doing very well. Lama is a medium energy dog that probably won’t fetch a ball, but she will gladly chew a bone for hours. She loves to run around outside and, on a recent trip to the beach, she had fun wading around in the shallow water with the other dogs. She is also a fan of long walks and does well on a leash. Lama loves to play with female and non-dominant male dogs. Lama has been around older children, and she does very well with them. She has not been around cats, so she will have to be cat tested. Lama will need to go to an applicant that has experience with cattle dogs and their personalities. We would like to have Lama fostered or adopted around the Baltimore area. She will come up to date on her shots, microchipped, and spayed.
