Lainey's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lainey

Lainey is a small, sweet, 10-ish year young terrier mix who has clearly decided that her best years are right now. At just 24 lbs, she’s the perfect pint-sized companion with a big heart and an even bigger love for food.

Lainey came to TDR after having a rough start in life, but thanks to some serious medical TLC (including double ear surgery), she’s now pain-free, comfortable, and happier than ever. She does have a charming little head tilt and a slightly wobbly walk—courtesy of her ear issues—but don’t let that fool you. When it’s feeding time, this girl hops with joy like she just won the lottery. ï ̧✠̈

Her favorite things include:

Eating (very serious about this)

Treats (also very serious)

Being brushed and petted

Wagging her tail wildly when her foster mom waves at her (yes, it’s adorable)

Lainey is housebroken as long as she’s let out regularly and does best when not left longer than about 8 hours. She doesn’t use a doggie door due to her unsteady gait, but she’s otherwise a total dream and has never needed a crate because she’s such a good girl.

She gets along fine with other dogs as long as they respect her personal space (no surprise tackle hugs, please), would likely be okay with cats, and prefers older, gentle kids. She’s great with both men and women and truly just wants a calm, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years.

Lainey does take a small daily pain medication for age-related back issues, but she’s comfortable, happy, and full of love to give. Honestly, her only real flaw is that she hasn’t found her forever family yet.

If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate companion who will happily supervise snack time and soak up all your love, Lainey is ready to steal your heart—one tail wag at a time.
