Laika

Laika is a 2-year-old, 35-pound sweetheart with the softest fur and an even softer heart. Affectionate and cuddly, she loves being by your side and will gladly be your shadow around the house or your snuggle buddy on the couch.<br/><br/>She’s house-trained, rides well in the car, and is a quick learner who already knows sit, stay, come, drop it, and down. She’s still working on crate training and leash manners but is making great progress every day.<br/><br/>With a moderate energy level, Laika is happy with a short walk and a game of fetch in the yard. She gets along well with other dogs and is friendly with children, though her excitement can lead to some enthusiastic jumping. <br/><br/>Laika was originally surrendered to a crowded Los Angeles shelter. In her previous home, she lived with another dog and a 6-year-old child, and her family was heartbroken to let her go due to unexpected hardship. Since her adoption, she’s been adjusting beautifully to life outside the shelter.<br/><br/>Sadly, her current guardian has developed a severe dog allergy and can no longer care for her without serious health consequences.
