Ladybug's Story
***Due to an overwhelming response, we are pausing applications on Ladybug to review those already submitted. Please watch our page as we will be posting more littles over the next few days. Thank you!***

Ladybug is a two to three year, nine pound, wire hair Terrier cutie who has had at least one litter of puppies. Ladybug and her son Chad came from Mission, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley on the Texas/Mexico border, where they found themselves without a home after her family was deported. Chad was hit by a car which shattered his pelvis and was then saved by one of our San Antonio rescuers. A week later Ladybug came to her as well.

Ladybug is a total sweetheart. She loves to cuddle, wants to cuddle all the time, and if you tell her to come cuddle she will throw her back against you and give you her belly. She loves to play with toys and balls and in her obsession with toys, will take every one to her chosen stash spot. When she isn't being playful, she is very submissive.

She was initially nervous around other dogs when she first arrived but warmed up quickly. More recently she had no issues with intros in her new foster home and has tried to play with all three canine foster siblings but they are still trying to figure her out. She is good with kids. She is learning to go in and out of the backdoor and her crate.

Ladybug is getting up to date on all vaccines and will be spayed in January.

Ladybug is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring her up and into their home- the next transport arrives January 9th!

***Ladybug is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200).***

Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa.

Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
