Lady's Story

Hi! My name is Lady. I landed in the shelter earlier this year. It was a super scary place. I don't remember what happened in my past, but the whole world is pretty scary for me. My foster family and my canine foster siblings have been a true blessing. They have helped me feel safe and learn that I don't have to be scared all the time.

While I will need a family to continue to give me a soft place to feel secure, I am a pretty easy girl otherwise. I am not much of a walker. I'm a huge fan of the couch. I am what humans would call a homebody, so I'm perfect for someone who is not looking for an energetic dog or someone who has a yard for me to go potty and sniff around. The key for me is a quiet, low key, not a lot of coming and going type of home. City dwelling is not in the stars for me. I do, however, need a confident dog to be my buddy. I have learned SO much from my canine foster siblings, and would like to continue to make progress with a new forever canine sibling. I'm about 40lbs, maybe 4 years old, potty trained, crate trained, and all I need is a warm bed and warm belly, and I'll be happy as a clam. Patience and gentleness are key characteristics of the humans I've come to trust. And time. Giving me the time I need to move at my own pace will be critical to my success.

If you live in DC/MD/NoVa area and would like to offer Lady her happily ever after, please fill out an application at https://forms.gle/eTQ5CjwzDNtz4rSs8 to begin the process.
