Lacy's Story

Lacy didn’t come into the world with a lot of exposure, but you would never know it from the dog she’s becoming.

She’s thoughtful, observant, and incredibly tuned in to her people. Lacy has shown a remarkable ability to regulate herself and make good decisions, even in situations that would overwhelm many dogs. She’s not reactive by default. She pauses, processes, and chooses.

She’s also deeply connected to her humans. Lacy has shown an unusual level of emotional awareness, often responding to her person’s stress or sadness by calmly pressing into them, staying close, and offering quiet comfort. It’s intentional, grounding, and honestly pretty incredible to witness.

In the home, she thrives on structure and routine. She is fully house trained, sleeps through the night in her crate, and settles easily after bursts of energy. She enjoys play, can share toys, and has shown no general toy guarding. She learns quickly, takes treats gently, and wants to get it right.

She does best in a calm, predictable environment where expectations are clear. Like many dogs still learning about the world, she can have moments of leash reactivity if allowed to fixate, but she is highly redirectable and continues to improve with guidance. She has shown some guarding tendencies around high-value items like marrow bones and during food prep, which are manageable with structure and awareness.

She’s not a couch-only dog, but she also doesn’t require endless stimulation. She enjoys a balanced life of activity, rest, and connection. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be near you, involved in your day, and part of your rhythm. Shower included.

Lacy is looking for a home that understands that dogs like her don’t need to be “fixed.” They need consistency, clarity, and someone who sees them. In return, she offers a level of connection and presence that is hard to find.

If you’re looking for a dog who is smart, emotionally aware, and deeply devoted, Lacy is ready.

If you think Lacy might be a fit, submit an adoption application and we’ll take it from there.

Real Good Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Los Angeles, CA. Head to www.realgood.dog
for more details.
*Lacy is currently being fostered in Seattle, Washington.
