Lacey's Story

Lacey is a sweet girl who wants to please. She arrived at our shelter as a stray, very shy and unsure at first but is now ready to get out and play. She is likely less than a year old and now that she has steady food, love, and warmth, she is letting herself be a happy puppy.

Lacey has been friendly with every person she has met, young and old. She can be submissive with other dogs, and she doesn't show much interest in cats. When out on our hiking trails with one-on-one attention from a kind person, she shows more confidence and bravery. When Lacey finds her forever home, she will surely blossom. At a fun-sized 32 pounds, she will be the perfect dog to take along on any adventure. Come meet Lacey!

Thank you for considering Lacey and supporting our small, rural animal shelter. Adopting save lives! Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
