Meet Lacey.<br/><br/>Some stories don't start out the way we'd hope.<br/><br/>When Lacey arrived at the shelter, she was heartbreakingly thin and covered in sores. It's clear life hadn't been very kind to her. But despite everything she's been through, Lacey has never stopped believing in people.<br/><br/>In just a couple of weeks, she's already started to heal. Her skin is improving, she's putting on weight, and every day we see a little more of the beautiful girl she's always been.<br/><br/>At 4 years old and 35 pounds, Lacey is as gentle as they come. She walks beautifully on a leash, loves nothing more than leaning in for pets, and if she had it her way, she'd spend all day right by your side soaking up affection.<br/><br/>Because Lacey came to us as a stray, we don't know how she is with cats or children. What we do know is that she has been incredibly sweet with every member of our staff and has done well with the other dogs she's met here at the shelter.<br/><br/>Lacey has come so far, but her biggest transformation is still waiting to happen.
