Lacey's Story

Let me start with the important stuff: I’m a big ol’ softie with a heart as wide as the open field I dream of running through. I’m told I’m a “bit awkward,” but honestly, that just makes me charming, right? I’m still figuring things out—like how to meet new people without peeing a little (maybe let’s do intros outside just in case). But once I know you, especially if you’re offering snacks, I’ll be your loyal, lovable shadow.

I love being outside. Like really love it. If you’ve got a big yard, a farm, or even just a comfy patch of deck I can nap under, we might be soulmates. I rarely bark, I mind my own business, and I’m more interested in sniffing the breeze than causing any drama. I walk beautifully on leash—unless a rabbit shows up. Then it’s game on. (Sorry. I’m working on it.)

I do great with bigger dogs but small dogs and cats are a no-go—I have a strong prey drive and don’t always understand who’s a friend and who’s a squirrel in disguise. I’m also a bit unsure of loud noises, scooters, and new people, but with a calm, patient human I blossom quickly. Women are my comfort zone, but I’m learning that men aren’t so scary either.

Inside the house, I’m pretty mellow. Two half-hour walks a day are just fine by me, though sometimes I get the zoomies and do my “awkward-giraffe-gone-wild” routine (you’ll love it). I sleep quietly in a dog bed, I love a good petting session, and I’m always down for treats—just keep your sandals up high, okay?

I probably wouldn’t do well in an apartment, but a quiet home with a yard and people who let me be my goofy, outdoorsy self? That sounds perfect. I’m curious, quirky, and full of love. You bring the snacks, I’ll bring the snuggles. Deal?

Love,
Lacey

Lacey was born approximately December 2023 and is a large dog.

Her adoption fee is $475.
