LIncoln's Story

Lincoln is a 9-month-old pit mix with the looks of a rock star and the heart of an absolute sweetheart.

Lincoln's life started rough, due to no fault of his own. He was found as a stray, malnourished and nearly hit by a truck. But somehow, despite everything he'd been through, Lincoln was kind from the very beginning. Now that he's safe and healthy, his personality is really starting to shine.

Lincoln is playful, athletic, smart, charming, and wonderfully goofy. He loves playing with other dogs and is perfectly happy entertaining himself with a good chew toy. He also loves walks and playing fetch! He's still got that fun puppy energy, but once the day winds down, Lincoln is ready to be close to his person—meaning directly on your lap! He LOVES his person!

He's also very food motivated and smart, which has made training him so rewarding. He's nearly completely potty trained and has made amazing progress with kennel training, especially for such a young dog who started life without much structure.

And then there's his LOOK. The natural black “eyeliner,” his one-of-a-kind facial markings, and that effortlessly cool expression make Lincoln look like he should be fronting a rock band. We've decided the obvious choice is Lincoln Bark (play on words from Lincoln Park)! We regularly joke that we don't feel *cool* enough to foster him.

Watching Lincoln grow into himself after surviving life as a stray has been such a joy. He has so much life ahead of him!

Applications: carerescueok.org
