Kurt's Story

Hmmm... how do I start? My name is Kurt, I'm a 47 lb male hound. We know I'm at least 7 years old, but I'm possibly older. I was originally adopted out from the pound several years ago, but due to no fault of my own, I was recently surrendered back to the pound. My friends at Hanover Humane Society saw how nice I was and took me into their adoption program.

I'm super sweet and love to snuggle...period - doesn't matter whether its people or dogs...I love to cuddle up. My second favorite thing is naps. If you give me a comfortable bed to sleep in, I'm good to go for hours. I don't have the best vision, so I bump into things quite frequently. I'm also a little hard of hearing. My smeller(nose) works great so when you walk me my nose goes to the ground and I want to follow the scent(typical hound behavior), so I do pull a bit on leash. My only dislike is hyper dogs that try to jump on me or play rough. I'm definitely low-key personality wise.

I'm pretty much housetrained, but because I'm older I do need to go out a little more often. I can stay in the office with my HHS friends for hours with no accidents, but I have a hard time holding it all day, or all night. A home with people who are there all the time to give me extra walks, or a doggy door would be ideal. I'm not perfect and I've had it pretty hard, but if you're willing to forgive my vision and hearing issues, I will repay you with all the love and cuddles you can handle.

I'm neutered and up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines. I've also tested negative for heartworms and am on monthly heartworm preventative.

If you want to meet me, please go to the Hanover Humane website www.hanoverhumanesociety.org and fill out an Adoption Application. Once they review the completed application, you'll be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet me.
