Kuji's Story

I’m a playful pup looking forward to joining my forever family. I love to play fetch (inside and outside). I get along well with other dogs. I’m ready to help you achieve your daily step goals. I’m pretty good on a leash, but tug once in a while. I can go in my cage with a little snack motivation. I know how to sit. I’m inquisitive so I’ll look on the counters once in a while. I don’t get fed human food, but I’m a vigilant opportunist…happy to snag an unattended treat. The name of the game gradual…in introducing to new humans and dogs. I’m not a barker, but do alert when someone comes in the house.
- I’m potty trained. I know how to use a dog door and alert when I need to go outside. I prefer a fenced yard to meet my exercise goals beyond regular walks
I’m not food aggressive around humans (only dog in the house at the moment)
I’m happy to lounge on my own or in the company of people. I sleep all night….preferably in the company of humans
I’m a work in progress…I’m getting better about not jumping up to greet people, following basic commands, and walking on a leash

Born approx 6/14/25 and surrendered when his owner suffered a fire and had to relocate to an apartment

Please visit www.handsheartspaws.org for an adoption application

All of our dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, fecal tested, heartworm tested, and they are all on heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

The adoption process is an application, a vet reference, a home visit, and a lifetime contract. The requested adoption donation for this dog is $400___.

We do not REQUIRE a fenced in yard (some dogs DO REQUIRE a fence. Decide what is best for each dog), we do REQUIRE a means of safe outside containment. We do NOT adopt to homes that use invisible fencing. Invisible fencing is NOT a safe means of outside containment.

We are willing to adopt out-of-state, contingent on our ability to complete a home visit, but you must travel to Omaha to complete the adoption. We do not transport or ship our dogs
