Kosmo/R.I.P.'s Story

Our dear Kosmo became a casualty of the food recall and died from being poisoned due to corporate greed. His family was devastated - this poor boy was taken out of a horrid puppy mill only to succumb to kidney failure brought on by the jerks at Menu Foods. He was a total love while he was with us - may he now rest in peace.
This lucky boy has found himself a great home in Scotch Plains, NJ. His new family is a big fan of the breed and he has a beautiful Pom "sister" to keep him company. They are also fans of the Star Wars movies so he will now be known as 'Chewie'.
Kosmo is another puppy mill rescue and it was not a moment too soon. You can see in his pictures his care and nutrition were less than ideal. Right now his hair is fragile & thin and is very sparse on his head and legs. But don't pass up this little gem because of his looks. With time and a little effort, Kosmo will blossom into the beauty he was meant to be. He has suffered tremendously in his short 6 year life and this is a new start for him. Even with all he has been thru this 10 pound doll is affectionate and just wants to be loved and cherished. He has had a bit of socialization and it shows - he seems to know that he is now safe and humans don't mean him any harm anymore. While he is still a bit nervous when you first approach him, he warms up once you pick him up and give him some hugs and kisses - he really seems to enjoy that. (update: he is no longer nervous being approached - he actually puts his paws on your legs begging to be picked up and snuggled).
Kosmo is neutered (so no more stud service for him). He is up to date with his shots and has been microchipped. We was checked out by our Vet and was found to be heartworm positive. We are in the process of getting him treated for this highly preventable disease. He has also since been groomed and looks just adorable (thank you to Poodle Splash in Elizabeth for donating their services for this). Please consider taking Kosmo home - he will keep your lap warm during these chilly winter nights. He will really appreciate being saved and is happy to be out of the hell-hole he was in. Kosmo will adore you all the rest of his days. He is a sweet, sweet boy.
We keep our website current so if you see a pet listed here you can be pretty certain it is still available.
