Kora's Story

Meet Kora!

At just 11 pounds, Kora is a little girl with a big heart and an even bigger capacity to love. This adorable 11-month-old Malti-poo has already been through more than any puppy should ever have to endure, but her story is finally taking a turn toward the happy ending she deserves.

Kora was found wandering the streets of Puerto Rico with open wounds in several places on her tiny body, clear evidence that she had suffered some type of physical trauma. Understandably, she was terrified of the humans who tried to rescue her. But beneath that fear was a little girl who was hungry, longing for safety, and desperately hoping someone would save her. In the end, her hunger and yearning for rescue were stronger than her fear, and she finally got her chance at a better life.

Today, Kora is safe at our shelter in Weare, New Hampshire, and her little body has healed beautifully. Now it's time for her heart to discover what it truly means to be loved.

This tiny bundle of love is super sweet and cuddly, and she would love nothing more than to find a family who will shower her with affection and help her continue to blossom. At just 11 pounds, she's the perfect little companion for cozy snuggles, and she'd be thrilled to have another small, friendly dog in her new home to play with and share her adventures.

After everything this precious girl has endured, she deserves a lifetime of gentle hands, warm hugs, soft beds, and people who will always keep her safe.

We are looking for a family who will show Kora that her hardest days are behind her and her happiest days are still ahead. She is ready to leave her past behind and begin her happily ever after. Because of her size, Kora will need a family with children over 12 years old, or no children.

If you're interested in adopting this precious little girl, please complete an adoption application on our website.

Adoption Info:
- Apply at https://www.heartsandtails.org/adoption-application
