Kona's Story

🐾 Meet Kona - A Calm, Confident Explorer Looking for His Person 🐾
📅 Age: 3 years
🐶 Breed: Bully Mix
⚖️ Weight: ~78 lbs
💉 Status: Ready for Adoption

Kona is a strong, steady, and thoughtful boy who takes the world in at his own pace. He's calm and composed, with an independent streak that makes him more of a quiet observer than a constant shadow. Kona is easy to leash, easy to handle, and straightforward to return to his run--no fuss, no stress.

Once outside, Kona shows signs of being house-trained and enjoys exploring his surroundings. He walks fairly well on leash, though he may pull moderately when something interesting catches his attention. He's very environmentally focused and would thrive in a home where he can spend time outdoors, sniffing and decompressing.

Kona isn't especially food motivated--he'll sometimes take treats, sometimes politely decline--but he does know "sit" and "down." He can be a bit stubborn, but it feels more like quiet confidence than defiance. He tolerated handling extremely well, including ears, mouth, paws, and head, making him an easy dog to care for and manage.

He showed playful moments during evaluation, offering play bows and interest in running, and passed cat cages with mild curiosity but no strong prey drive noted. Kona seems like the kind of dog who bonds deeply once trust is built.

🐶 Kona at a Glance:

Calm, aloof, and environmentally focused

Easy to leash, remove from, and return to the run

Walks fairly well with some pulling toward distractions

Appears house-trained

Knows "sit" and "down"

Strong and somewhat stubborn in a steady, confident way

Tolerates handling very well

Mild paw redness/hair thinning noted on toes

Mild interest in cats, no obvious prey drive

Enjoys play and running

🏡 Kona's Ideal Home:

A home with a yard or regular outdoor access

Someone who appreciates an independent, calm dog

An adopter comfortable with a strong dog

Enrichment-focused home (sniff walks, yard time, scent games)

A patient person ready to build a bond at Kona's pace

Kona is a grounded, handsome guy who doesn't need constant attention--just consistency, space to explore, and someone who respects his calm confidence.
