Kodiak's Story

Meet Kodiak!

Kodiak is a 12-week-old cattle dog mix, who is being fostered in Windham, Maine. Kodiak was born in rural Georgia with his seven brother and sisters. Kodiak’s mom is a red heeler mix who was dropped off to the shelter with her babies. Australian Cattle Dog Rescue came in and rescued all eight puppies, including mom! Kodiak is currently being fostered with one of his litter mates, but it is not required that they be adopted out together.

Kodiak is an extremely sweet and lively pup! He has an outgoing personality and loves to romp around with his brother and our resident dogs. One of his favorite activities is meeting new people of all ages. We are currently working on crate-training, walking on leash and other basic commands. Kodiak is thriving, loves his daily walks and is doing very well while walking on leash. He doesn’t seem phased by loud noises, cars, or bikes, he does however, want to greet every person we encounter on our walks! He is not fully house trained but is trying his best and doing a great job so far!

Kodiak is in search of:
*** Fun, active home
***Plenty of mental enrichment and exercise
***Continued socialization and training
***Someone who will continue with crate training and provide a consistent daily routine
***A family with patience, love, and plenty of time to devote to this sweetheart of a pup!

Kodiak will make a fantastic companion for an adopter who has the patience and time to dedicate to his needs. With continued training, lots of positive reinforcement and daily exercise there is no doubt he will blossom into the awesome dog he is meant to be.

Kodiak is up- to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, currently on heartworm and flea/tick preventative and will come microchipped. He is approximately 15 pounds and will come with a neuter contract that his adopter will be required to fulfill when he has reached the appropriate age.

For questions please contact gorejaime@gmail.com

Complete an Application:
https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application
