Hi there! I'm Kodiak, a purebred Border Collie with a big brain, a bigger heart, and a natural instinct to herd anything that moves—sheep, chickens, kids, you name it! I was born to work, and I thrive when I have a job to do. Whether it's helping out on a farm, running agility courses, or learning new tricks, I'm happiest when I'm busy and both my body and mind are engaged.<br/><br/>I'm super smart (seriously, puzzle toys are my jam), loyal to my people, and always ready to go, go, go! I’m not meant for the couch-potato life—I need space to run, tasks to complete, and someone who understands what a working dog like me needs. A home on a farm, ranch, or with someone experienced in herding breeds would be my dream come true.<br/><br/>I can be a bit selective when it comes to my doggy friends. When working I get along with everyone, but, once the job is done, I like to relax with just a chosen few other dogs (I prefer female to male dogs...but my best friend is actually a male springer spaniel--go figure!). I am not good with cats and would not be a good fit with in a home with small/young children. Older (> 13 yr), dog savvy kids would be OK. <br/><br/>I am house-broken, crate-trained, know several "tricks" and have excellent recall. I am neutered and up-to-date on my vaccinations. <br/><br/>If you’re looking for a clever, driven, and devoted partner to work and adventure with, I just might be your perfect match.
