Meet Koda

Say hello to Koda. This very handsome fluff ball is about 5 years old, and while he can act very much like a Husky, he can also be one of the mellowest dogs around. Koda gets along well with other dogs and will run, play, and get the zoomies, but he's just as happy exploring on his own and lying around. He can be a digger but is easily redirected. His digging maybe for his entertainment, but it is more likely a plan to escape route from fenced yards. His current foster Mom has kept a keen eye on him and shut down his excavating the minute he starts, so hopefully, he's learning and has only been caught digging a handful of times. But be advised, he'll need an eye kept on him and/or stimulated and entertained when in the yard.

Koda loves food, walks, and pulling a sled with a harness. He enjoys laying in your lap, but it has to be on his terms, of course. Comically, he will grunt in protest and is dramatic if you wake him from his sleep. Dude loves his naps! Koda did come to use with some food guarding but feeding him in his crate (he is crate-trained) has eliminated any issues with this. Being a Husky, Koda has typical selective hearing issues when asked to do something he doesn't want to do but will eventually give in and comply. Koda is not cat-friendly, but he loves the kids. He does very well with kids, but he would be happy to take candy or any food from a baby or younger child, so a home with older kids is probably a better choice for him. He could have the nickname Sneezy as he sneezes multiple times after waking up in the morning and then randomly throughout the day. Vets couldn't find any obvious reason for it and said, "he's a healthy dog that sneezes." According to his foster Mom ….. Koda is just this fluffy, dorky personality that likes to hang around and chill. Koda would be great for a medium-activity home. A walk or 2 per day will have him completely satiated exercise-wise. He is happy walking 1 mile or running 3. Either way, he'll take a long nap when he gets home. Koda is a good boy and a wonderful companion who is happy with some exercise, some love, and napping!
