Koda's Story

PLEASE COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT WWW.LOVEBUGSRESCUE.ORG IF YOU'D LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION:

Meet Koda, a 4-month-old 26 lb Pitbull mix with a heart as strong as his spirit. Koda was turned into the San Jacinto shelter as a stray with a condition called swimmer syndrome. This condition causes the back legs to splay out sideways and makes it difficult for puppies to stand or walk. This condition has a high success rate for a full recovery and this little fighter hasn’t let anything slow him down!

For the past three months, Koda has been working incredibly hard in physical therapy and acupuncture, and the progress has been amazing — he’s now up on all fours! While he’ll need to continue PT for a bit longer as his back legs keep getting stronger, we expect him to improve more and more every day.

Through it all, Koda has remained the sweetest little guy. He’s incredibly loving, patient, and full of joy, despite all the extra attention and therapy he’s been receiving. He’s friendly with new people, great with other dogs, and very food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding.

Koda would thrive in a home that will continue cheering him on as he grows stronger. Another friendly dog in the home would be a wonderful bonus, helping him build confidence and stay playful, but it’s not a must. Koda is expected to mature in the 50 lb range when full grown. This special boy has already come so far and has so much love left to give. Now he just needs a forever family to share it with. Could that be you?

Koda's adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, microchip, puppy vaccines current, deworming, flea treatment.
