Knox's Story
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our adoption application. Completed applications take priority over inquiries.

To apply to adopt, please copy and paste the following url:

https://fs30.formsite.com/legacygsd/form4/index.html

Meet Knox! Knox is a 3 year old male German Shepherd. He came into rescue when his previous owners had a new baby and didn't have time for him any more.

Knox is a sweet, friendly, active boy who never meets a stranger; be it human or canine. He loves everyone he crosses paths with. He is currently being foster with a male and female GSD, and gets along fantastic with them. He has not been around small dogs since being in rescue, but with his personality would probably be fine with proper introductions and supervision. He will chase a cat if it runs from him, but has shown no indication at all that he'd actually harm one. He should do fine with a dog savvy cat.

Knox is a very intelligent dog, as most GSDs are. He is extremely food and toy motivated, and has fantastic focus and eye contact. He loves to please, and knows basic commands like sit, down, and wait. He's a high energy boy that needs an active home and lots of exercise. We'd prefer not to place him in a home with small children, as he's a big boy (around 85 lbs) and could easily topple a little guy without even meaning to.

Knox is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and is currently on Proheart 6 for heartworm prevention and Bravecto for flea/tick prevention. He is house and crate trained.

As with all of our dogs, we recommend a basic obedience class to help him understand what is expected of him; and this also helps with the bonding process.

Knox is being fostered in Mississippi, and he will travel north once adopted. Our next available transport is scheduled to arrive on November 28, the day after Thanksgiving.

Knox's adoption fee is $475, which includes transportation and all other associated costs. There are no additional fees.

We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.
