Kit Kat's Story

Barks and Meows Rescue would like to re-introduce you to Kit Kat. She was born on Oct 12, 2022, one of 8 puppies born to Mommy Ellie. She is a heeler/lab mix with medium length fur.

As many of you would remember, his was the Chocolate Bar litter. Mommy Ellie is a Blue Heeler, adopted long ago, and none of the pups looked like her. All of us were shocked as were the vets at the time. Zero markings of the blue heeler so all took after whoever the father was. There were brow/red ones and black with white one. They were huge at 8 weeks of age and we made the incorrect judgement of stating we believed they would be large when full grown. We believe that this made it difficult for adoptions of the litter at the time as applicants were looking for mid-sized dogs. Regardless, we left her up for over a year on our website and she never found a home.

Since we are retiring the Rescue, we though we would place her up again for adoption. She is about 45 lbs. She is very pretty and loves everyone. She learned quickly how to walk on a lead and gets along best with male dogs. She gets jealous of female dogs if her family gives them attention. Kit Kat is sweet and has the intelligence of the heeler. We believe if there are children in the home, they should be over the age of 6. This gal loves her food and is very food motivated, which makes training so much easier.

Kit Kat loves being outside snow or grass, and will play fetch with you all day long if you would allow her to. She is past the destructive stage and does not require crating. Lots of toys and chew bones keep her occupied. She has visited Pet Valu to go shopping and was friendly with all.

She is allowed on the furniture and enjoys being cuddled on the couch or lazyboy. She sleeps on a doggie bed at night. As she has some herding breed in her, she would have a prey drive so a fully fenced yard is best so she wont't go chasing after the neighbourhood cats or squirrels.

Kit Kat is vaccinated, spayed, 4dx tested negative and microchipped.

Her adoption fee is $550.
Visit barksandmeows.ca for an online application. Available to Ontario Residents only!!!
