Kiska's Story

Kiska is a 4-year-old husky mix who is living her best life! This resilient girl loves going on hikes, playing with her canine companions, and snuggling with her favorite people. You'd never know that just over a year ago, she was completely paralyzed in her back legs. Today, she walks independently without a wheelchair, and her incontinence is well-managed. What shines brightest about Kiska is her incredible spirit—she radiates pure joy, infectious enthusiasm, and unconditional love that inspires everyone she meets.

Kiska has had quite the journey, which is why she is a dog that truly inspires every single person she meets. In spring 2023, Kiska was hit by a car in Alaska, leaving her paralyzed. Her family, living 120 miles from specialists, surrendered her to what they believed was a special needs rescue in Chandler, Arizona. Instead, Kiska endured a nightmare—trapped with 55 other dogs in a hoarding situation with little food, water, or care. One month later, authorities discovered the horrific conditions. The Arizona Humane Society rescued Kiska and the other survivors, who became known as the Chandler55, which is how she came to us.

Against all odds, she not only survived—she thrived, eventually walking on her own again!

Appy to adopt: https://lovethemallrescue.org/adopt
