Kirsty's Story

Kirsty is a petite 45-pound German Shepherd with the most gentle, tender spirit. This sweet girl has a calm, soft nature and finds pure joy in simply being near people and receiving affection.

Her story hasn’t been easy—Kirsty was confiscated from a backyard breeder who was selling her and her siblings for thousands of dollars. For much of her early life, she was confined to a crate, missing out on the love and freedom every dog deserves. She later ended up at a high-kill shelter, where she was placed on the euthanasia list after becoming withdrawn from the stress and neglect she had endured.

Thankfully, she was rescued by our rescue just in time. Since then, she’s been learning what love, safety, and compassion truly feel like—and she’s blossoming more every day into the perfect family addition.

One of the most heart-melting things about Kirsty is how she’ll pause during walks, gently lift her head, and gaze up at the sky as the sun warms her face—like she’s quietly soaking in a world she’s only just begun to experience. It’s as if she’s discovering freedom for the very first time.

Kirsty is incredibly sweet, friendly, and easygoing. She does wonderfully with people of all ages and gets along well with both dogs and cats. She’s fully vaccinated, spayed, and ready to find a forever home where she can continue to feel safe, loved, and cherished.
