Kirby is an 8-year-old neutered Pit Bull mix who has been waiting in rescue since 12/26/2023 after being returned for the second time. He is now approaching his senior years in rescue, and we so badly want him to have what every good dog deserves: a home of his own, a person to love him, and someone who will spoil him for the rest of his days.<br/><br/>But don’t let his age fool you — Kirby is not an old man. He still loves his outdoor adventure moments, especially hikes, exploring, and playing in streams. He’s the perfect mix of chill companion and fun adventure buddy.<br/><br/>Kirby loves playtime with his humans, getting attention, and soaking up all the love you’re willing to give. He is smart, routine-oriented, and one of those dogs who understands the rhythm of daily life. One of his previous returns was reported to involve a conflict with another dog over tennis balls, but we were not given many details, and this is not something we have tested since.<br/><br/>Because of that, we think the safest plan is simple: if Kirby is around other dogs, toys like tennis balls should be managed carefully or put away.
