Kirby's Story
***Kirby***
Hi, my name is Kirby! I'm a 10-month-old Lab mix puppy looking for my forever home. I'm a curious boy who is still figuring the world out, so I would love to find a family that will help me keep learning. I can be a little timid at first, but once I'm comfortable my puppy energy comes out!

I like going for walks, and my foster parents say I'm doing much better on my leash. I also love playing with toys, especially Kongs, and am really good at entertaining myself with them. I'm learning that sometimes I like playing fetch with those toys, too!

I like playing with my foster dog sister when she's up for it (I can be high-energy in my play style). I'd be okay with a dog sibling in my forever home, too, as long as they're patient and/or have a similar play style as me.

I haven't been introduced to my foster mom's cat yet, but while I may not hurt a cat, because of my herding instinct, I may try to chase it. If you have a cat that is comfortable around dogs we can talk.

I may have some herding breed(s) in me because I do like to try and herd my foster mom around the house. I can also be a little over enthusiastic at times with my greetings and wanting to play. For that reason, I would do best with older children. My foster parents think this is mostly puppy energy and that, with the right guidance and patience, I'm going to grow into a great dog. Would you like to help me get there?

While I LOVE exercise, I am ok without a fence as long as you keep me safe and contain me. I'm pretty athletic too so if you do have a fence, you might want to make sure that I can't find a way around it.

I do well in my crate, but I'm a little young to be left home alone all day if you work full time--as long as I had some play time to break up the day, I should be good. I like my crate and am happy to go into it.

If you're interested and you’re an approved LELRR adopter, refer to the instructions on your approval email. If you haven’t already been approved, please fill out an application at https://www.lelrr.org/adopt.html.
Be prepared to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations and year-round heartworm preventative for any current or recent pets that you have owned.
Adoption radius is 150 driving miles from Medina, Ohio.
