Kirby 's Story

Kirby is truly one of a kind — not just in looks, but in spirit. He was found skin and bones on the side of a cane field, doing whatever he could to survive, even eating a skunk in the road. It’s a heartbreaking beginning for a dog who is nothing but gentle, loving, and full of trust. Despite everything he’s been through, Kirby is the sweetest boy. He has the biggest, most expressive ears you’ve ever seen, attached to a tiny little body he never quite grew into. Though he’s an adult, Kirby is exceptionally small, likely due to the severe malnourishment he endured early on. Right now, we’re focused on helping him gain weight and continue healing — inside and out.

Kirby is kind, affectionate, and endlessly grateful for love. He leans into humans like he’s just happy to be safe, and his soft eyes tell a story of survival and hope. This boy didn’t let his past harden his heart — it made him gentle.

Kirby deserves a home where he’ll never have to worry about food, safety, or love again. A home where he can finally just be someone’s baby.
If you believe in second chances, resilience, and quiet miracles… Kirby is waiting for you. 🐾
