Kirby

Kirby was turned in to a rural shelter as a stray. He was pulled by LCAR after nobody ever came looking for him. The vet says he is at least 11 years old and in need of a few cheeseburgers and a dental cleaning, which will be taken care of soon. <br/><br/>Kirby is currently 7.14 lbs, loves to be held, and rides well in a car, especially if there are french fries involved! He seems to be confident exploring new environments as long as he can hear/smell his people. If he thinks he has been left, he unabashedly sings the song of his tribe, so he would prefer a home where his family is home a lot or can take him with them on their adventures. <br/><br/>He seems to do well with other dogs and is not interested in cats. Kirby is still quite agile and has demonstrated his ability to navigate onto a couch during movie time. He walks well on a leash and is crate trained. <br/><br/><br/>WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.<br/><br/>If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.<br/><br/>ADOPTION FEE of $365 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.<br/><br/>We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
