KIRA: Sweet Senior Girl's Story
Kira is ready for a loving retirement home.
Kira came to us 8 years ago, was adopted, and recently returned through no fault of her own when her family faced hardships and had to move.

She's a 10 1/2 -year-old senior with some health issues (skin dermatitis and a mass just above her tail), but she's still full of love and energy. Kira does great with cats, and is dog selective, so she'd do best in a calm home without other dogs.

Our vet estimates that Kira may have roughly 6 good months left maybe more, maybe less but what we know for certain is that she deserves to spend this chapter in a soft, safe, loving home. A retirement home where she can rest, be spoiled, and feel deeply loved every single day.

Kira doesn't need much. A warm bed. A gentle routine. A human who appreciates the simple beauty of senior dogs. Someone who believes that every life, no matter how long or short the time left, deserves dignity, love, and peace.

If you can give a senior girl a peaceful place to rest her head, Kira is waiting for you.

Spayed | Heartworm negative | Current on vaccinations & preventatives.

Kira did test positive for Lyme disease and has started her 28 day treatment. It is recommended she stay on flea/tick prevention year round and receive a Lyme vaccine every year.

Adoption fee is $0 for an approved adopter, as she is seeking a hospice home.

Interested in meeting and possibly adopting? Please start by submitting an application here:

https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog

Once submitted, staff will review your application. If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet! If you have other dogs, they'll need to come as well to ensure compatability. If it's a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day!

We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it's the right match for everyone.

Adoption Hours: Mon & Sat: 11 AM 4 PM | Tue & Fri: 11 AM 5 PM | Wed: 11 AM 6 PM | Thur & Sun: CLOSED
