Kippy's Story

"Kippy has a calm, gentle presence that draws you in. She doesn't demand attention - she offers herself, and that kind of love is hard to forget. That quiet trust is what makes her so special." - Foster Mom.

Miss Kippy is a 2-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing 50 pounds. She has the most stunning brindle coat and those perky ears, gah! Under all that beauty is a gentle, observant, and quietly affectionate lady.

Kippy gets along with every dog she meets, both male and female. Kippy has met confident barn cats and showed curiosity without aggression or chasing. Because the cats did not run, we cannot say for sure how she would respond to a fearful or fast-moving cat. Continued supervision and slow introductions would be necessary in a home with cats. Kip is calm, patient, and comfortable around kids.

Miss Kippy enjoys food-based enrichment such as Kongs filled with peanut butter and bully sticks. She is always up for a walk and time outside, but does not require high levels of exercise. This smart gal is house-trained and can be trusted to sleep on her dog bed at night. Kip knows "sit," and can easily learn many more commands.

Kippy is learning that the world can be safe. She is still gaining confidence in new environments. She would be best suited for a home that values calm energy and patience over fast expectations. A consistent routine, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement will help her continue to build confidence.

Kippy will come to you spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. If you feel you and Kip would make a good match, head over to PawsitiveTailsKC.org and fill out an adoption application. Approved applicants will be contacted to set up a meet-and-greet.

APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Pawsitive Tails's Adoption Policy
Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone. All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster homes with both the human and furry members of our families. Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application. We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer. &nbs
