King Magnum's Story

King Magnum has spent his entire short life as a shelter/kennel dog for no other reason then no one is interested in this magnificent, majestic creature.

Magnum weighs in at 76lbs, he is built like a brickhouse, which is all fine and good until he wants to sit in your lap.

Magnum came into the shelter and Parvo befell him as just a baby. He was sent to the vet, where he made a full recovery. Unable to return to the shelter he went into a kennel in hopes of a rescue bringing him into their program, where he has sat in a holding pattern with no interest.

He loves playing with other friendly dogs whether playing chase, wrestling in the mud or playing keep away with a toy. He has made friends while in the kennel, but unlike this black beauty of a dog, they moved on to rescue.

We tell him it's just not fair and his big beautiful eyes show the sadness of understanding his is not wanted and he waits.

He has had no training, but his temperament is so good he follows directions and routine without a hitch. He runs free in the fields and comes when called with a whistle from the caretaker. He hasn't lived inside, so potty training will something his family will have to teach him as if he is a young puppy. He is smart, so with consistency, he should catch on quickly.

For now, he sits in a kennel 24/7 and takes advantage of his time outside when he gets the opportunity to run and play. We have been given until April 1st to find a foster or foster to adopt home for this most deservedly young dog before he will be added to the list no dog wants to be placed on.

If you can open your home and heart to Magnum, please complete an application at www.k9ei.dog. Foster home's are provided with food, toys, treats, bed and all medical care is covered by the rescue. You provide a safe environment, a caring home and structure to prepare the dog for their forever.

#K9EI4LIFE

At the end of that time, if the match is perfect for the family as well as the dog, an adoption contract is signed. This allows the dog to assimilate to the new environment and for the bonding process to begin for both the dog & family. We have a $500 donation fee for dogs under 1 year old with a non-refundable deposit of $250 on puppies under 6 months. $400 for 1-7 years, $300 for 7-10 years, dogs over 10 years will be assigned adoption fee based on health. Often a dog chooses their family and makes it pretty obvious quickly if they are comfortable or not. All dogs under 1 year of age are required to attend Force Free/Fear Free training with their new adoptive family at their expense as part of the contract. Dogs older than 1 year old who are in need of training based on their past lives will be required to attend training classes. Applicant must have knowledge of the breed of dog they wish to be considered for adding to their family.
