KING's Story

****************************************************************************************************
"He's a good solid dog, and a great companion."

"Energetic & active (while also sweet, quiet and gentle)."

"It's his fun fluffy tail that makes him stand out from all the other lab mixes."
****************************************************************************************************

This boy is about 6-8 years old, and has energy like he is living life to the fullest! KING rates a solid "10" on a scale of 1-10 for energy. He is very playful, loves to run, and enjoys being active.

This athletic boy is about 55 lbs, and is friendly with people, kids, and other dogs. He has not had any exposure to kitties.

If you have an active life, KING is a very well-rounded boy, and is a nice canine buddy to have around. He is fairly self-sufficient, and not a high maintenance or demanding dog. We would say he is a smart boy... has good common sense, and follows direction when asked to go into the crate or to be quiet. He isn't a big barker. In fact, he is fairly quiet, however, if there is something unusual he will bark and alert you to anything that seems strange or out of place.

KING appreciates a good meal and nice treats, however he doesn't have a high food or prey drive, and isn’t one to lose his senses trying to get every last crumb. Overall, KING is an active boy, with a sweet and gentle disposition. He is not overly affectionate, but when he rubs his face against yours, your heart can't help but melt.

KING is both crate and house-trained, and will bark or go to the door when he needs to go out. No concerns about any storm or separation anxiety with this boy, and he doesn't have any behavioral issues either (although he has been guilty of chewing up a plastic water bowl when given the opportunity - so metal is best).

KING rides well in the car. He likes to be loose, and enjoys looking out the window/windows. But if you don't like that, he would most likely be ok being strapped up with a safety harness. And like most pups, he loves his walks, and is just fine on the leash.

At the end of the day, assuming he has regular activity and enrichment, you can expect a tuckered out pup, ready to relax and chill for the evening/night.

If you are looking for a nice dog to enjoy life with, and are able to provide him an active and healthy lifestyle, we would love for you to consider this boy who is ready for a wonderful home and family.

Our wish for him is to be with a family (whether its made of 1 person or 5), who is committed to showing him how great life can be. We believe this kiddo was dumped, as he was found in a bad part of town on the side of the road hit by a car. He does have physical scars, however it doesn't impact how he lives. He is fully functioning, and nothing holds him back. For this reason, we only want the very best for him.

If you love living life with "man's best friend," have a yard, and willing to be this pup's best friend, we would love for you to complete an application per the link below:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJubAHJr4oIe4NkDxnhfBPM1jVRO2s4S0xIjrHVlElAMQWJA/viewform

*********************************************************
KING is located in Houston, TX and is available for transport to your area. The cost of transport is ALREADY included in the posted adoption fee.

FurEverAfter's Adoption Policy
Our commitment is always to our pets, so we are thorough in our adoption process. Our application is lengthy, and does not guarantee adoption. Our goal is to find the right family for our pets, and to set everyone up for success. All our pets are fixed before they are adopted. 1- Potential adopters must complete our application form. 2- The foster and/or rescue reaches out to any considered applicants to answer any questions, share more about the pet, and confirm interest. 3- Once the application is approved for a meet and greet, a time & date are scheduled. We require a copy of the drivers license to be sent to us for verification. Out of state adopters schedule a virtual visit, like Facetime. 4- After the meet & greet, we discuss with fosters for final decision. 5- If it appears to be a great match, we move forward with a homecheck. Homechecks are in person or via video apps like whatsapp, zoom or facetime. 6- Once the match is confirmed, we review the contract & invoice with you, and then arrange for you to welcome in your new pet (either in person or via transport - if out of state). NOTE: If your application is approved for adoption, but it is not the best match for the pup you applied for, we can offer you a better match or direct you to a more suitable rescue group.
