King's Story

King is a super sweet 5-year-old boy, who was brought to the shelter by a good Samaritan. He absolutely loves to cuddle and plops directly in your lap as soon as you sit down. He is house trained and is very polite in the house. He is not interested in toys, but does steal the occasional plastic item to chew on. Other than that, he is not destructive in the home. He has some pulling issues on leash and likes to greet anyone he sees outside (by barking). We feel with continued training this will not be an issue. When you first leave the house, he barks a little but then settles down. He gets along great with other dogs and loves all people once he has the chance to be introduced. Unlike most beagles, he does not finish his meals! He was likely a grazer previously. He does finish when offered the remainder of his meal later. King has valley fever in his foot. He is on medication for this, and it does not seem to bother him. Because he may need to be on medications for a long time, possibly for life, King’s adoption fee is reduced to our special needs fee of $100.00. King would do best with an adopter who is okay with giving attention to and receiving constant companionship and snuggles from our boy.
