King's Story

Update January 2026: King is still taking baby steps, there is a noticeable difference in his interaction with humans. What happened to King before coming to ARL really affected him, but we see progress and being in a home with humans he trusts and hopefully other fur babies is really what he needs.
Update October: Check out the new pic with King sitting with one of our Rescue Walkers. He is walking better on a leash and letting someone pet him. Baby steps!
Update September 20: King is doing really good, loosing his leg doesn't slow him down at all. He is also interacting with other dogs and enjoying is time in the play yard. ARL thinks he would be very happy with another dog as a friend.
Well this story starts out unfortunately for King as a stray. His back left leg was wrapped around and around with a retractable leash that he had chew of partially. The leash was wrapped so tight and it had been there a while to cause a severe injury in which his leg had to be removed. He is doing great, now ARL needs to work on his heart. He is not sure who to trust but is alright with someone seating with him. He is alright with other dogs his size. A few staff have been able to pet him carefully but he is not fond of being picked up yet. Considering what he went through he is doing very well. My adoption fee is $185 which includes my spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm disease test, Microchip/registration fee and collar . ADOPT ME TODAY and find a friend for life! And remember that adopting a pet is a life long commitment.
