Kilo's Story

This sweet senior has been in our care longer than any of our current pets, and he’s more than ready for a home that will cherish him the way he deserves.

Kilo is the definition of devoted. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of every moment of your day, quietly padding after you from room to room and keeping a watchful eye on his people. If you get up from the couch, don’t worry—your spot will be kept warm for you. Bedtime? Kilo insists on sleeping close, happiest when he can feel that you’re right there with him.

He’s a wonderfully gentle soul—calm, respectful, and well-mannered in the home. Kilo does beautifully even around small animals (like his guniea pig foster sblings) and is content simply being near the people he loves. He’s not destructive, doesn’t ask for much, and truly just wants companionship.

Due to his age, Kilo’s vision isn’t what it used to be, which can make new situations a little confusing for him. Sudden movements or low lighting may cause him to bark when he’s unsure, but once he understands what’s going on, he settles in nicely. He’s also healing from past experiences, so he appreciates a patient, predictable environment where his boundaries are respected. If he needs space, he communicates clearly and gently—never with aggression.

With his protective instincts, sweet nature, and endearing stubborn streak, Kilo has a personality that’s impossible not to love. He’s looking for a calm, understanding home where he can spend his golden years being someone’s constant companion. If you’re searching for a loyal presence and a warm body to share your couch, Kilo is ready to fill that role—and your heart.
