Kilo's Story

Meet Kilo — Your Loyal Shadow
12 year old senior

Kilo isn’t just a dog—he’s a devoted companion who wants to be wherever you are. Affectionately nicknamed “the tail of the family,” he follows his humans from room to room, always wanting to be part of the action (or at least steal your warm seat the second you stand up). When it’s time to sleep, Kilo will be right beside you—ideally with some part of him touching you at all times.

This sweet senior is incredibly gentle and respectful, even around small animals like guinea pigs. He’s calm, non-destructive in the home, and happiest when he’s close to the people he trusts.

Kilo does have poor vision due to his age, which makes him a little socially awkward at times—especially in dim lighting or when people move suddenly. He may bark when he's unsure, but it’s all part of his adjustment process. Once he feels safe, he settles beautifully.

He’s also working through some past trauma, so fast movements or unexpected touches can startle him. He may yelp or growl to set his boundaries—but never out of aggression. Kilo is incredibly communicative and gentle when he needs space; he just asks for a little patience and understanding.

Protective, nosy, and adorably stubborn, Kilo is a quirky, loving soul who’s ready to be someone’s loyal shadow for his golden years. If you’ve got room in your heart (and on your couch), Kilo would love nothing more than to be right there beside you.

Interested in adopting Kilo?
