Kia's Story

Young Kia (born May 2025) is looking for an adventure! She’s a perfect medium sized mixed breed weighing about 35 lbs. She is playful and joyful despite a tough early start as an unwanted puppy. She is affectionate, smart and loves to explore with curiousity and always a spring in her step. Kia enjoys swimming, toys, chasing and meeting new people. She is smart, very food motivated and keen to learn. Kia is healthy and vaccinated and looking forward to a real family to call her own.

Check her out making the best of shelter life:
https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DRGm5yHEbfe and https://www.facebook.com/share/r/16rxiGaqvo/.

Kia is now healthy and vaccinated and is looking for a real family to call her own. Flight options available to BC and Alberta. If you think you might be a fit either has her happy ever after home, or as a foster in her journey, she’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com, or you can go straight to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (Please check your spam folder for our response). She's doing her best to stay happy but shelter life is not a real life for a young girl.

PVCA Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our sister organization, the SPCA Puerto Vallarta, has a sanctuary, staff, trainer and medical team who work with the dogs and cats until they are deemed "adoptable". Once they pass their health exams, which include blood tests which certify they are able to cross borders, they are transported to Canada and/or the United States and enter foster or permanent homes. All our animals come sterilized, and fully vaccinated and dewormed. Our organization relies on the caring volunteers who open their homes and foster the animals until they are adopted. We do not have a sanctuary or shelter in Canada or the United States. Visits must be arranged and we prefer an adoption application to be filled out and approved before visitation.

Our Mission
We are a committed group of volunteers who are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of neglected, abused, and abandoned animals. Primarily, all of our rescued animals come from the streets of Mexico.
